Charter Business® Refer-A-Business FAQ
What is the Refer-A-Business program?
The Charter Business Refer-A-Business program allows customers to earn credits toward their account by referring a business to Charter Business for services. If the business that you referred signs up for Charter Business services, both you and the referred business will receive a $50 nontransferable credit toward your bills. The business you refer will receive a nontransferable credit after its service(s) is installed. You will receive nontransferable credit when the referred business has its Charter Business services installed. If the referred business or the business making the referral subscribe only to Charter Business Telephone™ service, it is not eligible for the credit. The credit will only be applied to Charter Business Internet and/or Cable TV™ services, as applicable, however, you may still subscribe to Charter Business Telephone.
How do I submit referral information to Charter Business?
Submitting leads is easy. Just fill out the form found at
www.charter-business.com/businessreferral
What happens after I refer a business to Charter Business from this website?
You will receive an email notifying you that we have received your lead. A Charter Business representative will follow up with the referred business and let it know that it has been referred at your suggestion. You will be updated on the status of this lead through an email when the customer signs a contract with us or declines the service.
Can I refer a business in another state?
Yes. You can refer a business in any state where Charter Business offers service.
Can a business subscribing only to Charter Business phone receive the credit?
No. If the referred business or the business making the referral subscribes only to Charter Business Telephone service, it is not eligible for the credit.
How do I remove my referral from the Refer-A-Business program?
If you submit a referral and later wish to remove it from the program, you can send a request to
businessreferrals@chartercom.com. However, if the referral has already been contacted, it cannot be removed from the program.
How do I track my referral?
You will receive emails sent to the address provided in the online referral form that will have a referral tracking number. Automated emails will be sent when the referral purchases or declines Charter Business service.
Is there a phone number that I can call to check on the status of my account?
The Refer-A-Business program updates are only available via email at this time.
Is there a way to submit business referral information other than online?
Not at this time.
Will the business I'm referring know I referred them?
The referred business receives an email from Charter Business informing them of the referral at
your suggestion.
How many referrals can I make?
You can make as many referrals you would like through the program. However, you will only receive up to 10
nontransferable one-time credits. If plan to send Charter Business more referrals, there are other Charter
Business partner programs you can join.
You can see more at
www.Charter-Business.com/Agent, or contact your
local sales representative for more information on these programs.
Is there a limit to the amount of credits I am able to receive?
The limit is 10 non-transferable one-time $50 credits.
How can the credits be used?
Multiple credits cannot be used in a single-month. One credit per month with a maximum of 10 credits for any given calendar year is applicable. Credits can only be applied to monthly recurring charges, not on installation or other one-time charges.
Can current customers get referred?
No, you must be a brand new lead being referred to Charter Business or must not have had Charter Business service within 120 days in order to get the referral credits.
When will the non-transferable credits be applied towards my account?
The nontransferable credits will be applied to your account after your referral becomes an active customer. Depending on your billing cycle, this means your credits may not appear on your bill for up to 60 days after the referred customer's service is installed.
I referred three businesses, but only received one credit. Why is that?
There could be various reasons that you have not received credit for every referral submitted:
- The referred business may not have agreed to install Charter Business service.
- The referred business has subscribed only to Charter Business Telephone service.
- Currently, you only subscribe to Charter Business Telephone service (and not Internet or Cable TV services)
- The referred business may be located in an area where Charter Business service is not offered.
- The referred business may already be a Charter Business service customer.
- Depending on your billing cycle and when the referred business had the service installed, you may not have yet seen a credit that will be applied to a future bill.
- Another business may have already referred the same business.
What happens if I disconnect my Charter Business service before I have received, or used, my referral credits?
Charter Business referral credits are nontransferable. This means that customers who disconnect their business service will forfeit any unused credits. Refer-A-Business credits cannot be transferred to another account or redeemed for cash.
Once my referral signs up, how long will it take to receive my credit?
You will receive a credit on your account after the referred business's service has been installed and is an active customer. Due to differences in billing cycles, your credit may not appear on your account for up to 60 days after the referred business's service has been installed.
What if my referral doesn't want to participate in the Refer-A-Business program?
The referred business can simply ignore the email sent informing them that they have been referred or ask Charter Business to be removed from the referral program.
